The time between seasons, especially the transition from winter to spring, is a magical period for young children. They notice changes everywhere: longer days, warmer air, and nature slowly coming back to life. This “in between” time is full of curiosity, emotions, and learning opportunities.

This is exactly why Carnival (Fasnacht/Fastnacht) plays such an important role in early childhood education.

Carnival is not just about costumes and celebrations – it’s a powerful way for children to express themselves, explore different roles, and use their imagination freely.

When children dress up, they learn through play:

  • 🎭 Creativity and imagination

  • 🗣️ Language and social interaction

  • 💃 Movement, music, and body awareness

  • 💛 Confidence and a sense of belonging

During this transitional season, when routines may feel less stable and the weather keeps changing, Carnival brings joy, structure, and emotional balance. Laughing, dancing, and celebrating together helps children feel safe, connected, and happy.

At Island4Kids Daycare, in Baar we embrace this special time of year to celebrate traditions, support emotional development, and create meaningful experiences that help children grow – even in between seasons.
